Testing is an important part of health care
In addition to pursuing a diagnosis when the pet shows signs of not feeling well, it's a peace-of-mind, health assurance maker when regular testing is incorprorated with the regularly scheduled wellness examinations. This especially so in the case of older patients, starting at age 7 yrs and older. Testing also helps in monitoring the patient's progress in recovery from an illness.
Home Care for Animals works with the Northwest Veterinary Laboratory for most of its tests. The Phillips Urine Cytology and Testing Center and the Parasite Testing Service perform tests for those areas. Specimens requiring other specialized testing are referred to other specialized laboratories, most of which are located at or near colleges and universities.
Home Care for Animals also encourages home urine testing. Specimens can also be shipped in quality preserving ccoolant containers to the Phillips Urine Cytology and Testing Center for optimal results.
Home Care for Animals considers a urinalysis to be an effective test in monitoring health. Most of the chemistry results can be done at your home and the results can be reported to us to incorporate in your pet's health ongoing health story. This is a low cost procedure.
